Sandra Taylor

I am passionate about working with clients to explore new ways of engaging with their own experience, in relationship with others, and with the existential dilemmas inherent in our lives. I work collaboratively, helping clients to a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves, their lives, and their relationships. 

I am an experienced relationship and individual therapist who was certified by ICEEFT  as an emotionally focused therapist in 2012, as a supervisor of EFT therapists in 2015 and as a Trainer in 2018. Before this I was a Person Centred Counsellor working with individuals, having qualified as a counsellor in 1992. I am also an experienced and qualified supervisor and trainer of counsellors.​

​Affirming the lives of LGBTQ+ people impacted by dementia

I am a co-director of the British Emotionally Focused Therapy Centre (BEFT) - a group of professional therapists who have come together on a voluntary basis to form a community of Emotionally Focused Therapy practitioners in Britain.
​
I am an accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework.

I originally trained as an Occupational Therapist and worked in a range of mental health settings before moving into counsellor training in further and higher education. From 2007 – 2010 I was Programme Manager of Counselling Courses at the University of Cumbria and from 2010 – 2013 I was the Director of Relationship Counselling for the national charity Marriage Care. Since 2013 I have worked privately.
