We are all increasingly aware of the large numbers of people with a form of dementia. There are also a lot of people who are showing signs that they may have dementia but have not been diagnosed or have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment.
In all of these cases there is a lot to come to terms with - especially the impact of the current symptoms and all that the illness means to the person and those around them. There are surprisingly few services available that offer you support to do this in a deep and meaningful way.

I aim to work in a way that is affirming, non-judgemental and non-pathologising. I will work with individuals, couples and other relationship variations, to explore your anxieties and fears as you plan ahead while making the most of now. Clients may be people with cognitive impairments or dementia, their partners and/or family and friends.
Please note that I am not an expert in cognitive impairments and dementia. I am an experienced and ICEEFT certified EFT therapist, a Dementia Friend, and have experience of living with my partner and her dementia over the last 10 years. My learning continues.
I have two specific areas of interest: gender and sexual diversity across the LGBTIQ+ spectrum and dementia and I particularly welcome clients who are connected with one or both of them.
My interest in these are both professional and personal - I am lesbian in a long term marriage with my wife who has had a rare form of dementia since 2010 and now lives in a nursing home.
My aim is to work in an affirming, non-pathologising and non-judgemental way with all my clients. For more specific information please go to my pages for LGBTIQ+ and for dementia.
